The terms that apply when you request or receive work from Stumps By Dan.
These terms cover use of this website and the tree and property care services we provide in Hickory and western North Carolina.
Estimates are free and are based on what we can see at the time of assessment. An estimate is not a contract until the work is accepted and scheduled. If conditions differ materially once work begins — hidden decay, buried utilities, access we could not see — we will stop and discuss it with you before continuing.
Tree work depends on weather and ground conditions. We may reschedule when conditions are unsafe. Emergency calls are prioritized over routine work, which can move other jobs.
You confirm you own the property or are authorized to have the work done, and that you have told us about anything buried, hidden or fragile in the work area — septic lines, irrigation, invisible fencing, utilities.
Payment is due as set out on your invoice. Membership billing recurs monthly and is governed by the separate Membership Agreement you sign when you join.
We carry full liability and workers' compensation insurance, and a certificate is available before work begins. We are responsible for damage caused by our negligence. We are not responsible for pre-existing conditions or for damage from hazards we were not told about.
Tree care is not a guarantee of outcome. We cannot guarantee a treated or pruned tree will survive, and we cannot guarantee a tree will not fail. Our recommendations reflect professional judgment based on visible conditions.
Photographs, text and the Stumps By Dan name and logo on this site belong to us. Job photographs are of our own work. Prices and service descriptions shown here may change and are not an offer until confirmed in a written estimate.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina.
